✧ MAP OF TEMBA ✧

Click for a larger version

Temba is the capital city of Agra 10, the (former?) homeworld of the Agrii race. It's a large, abandoned city clearly in an advanced state of disrepair, with nature slowly starting to creep back in. Some artifacts of the people who lived here still remain, but most are in poor shape or have completely crumbled to dust.

Power and water have been restored, thanks to our intrepid heroes. See the separate Data Points page for more details on the Data Points sprinkled throughout the city.

Thanks to Section 31, all heroes now have a full map of the city on their communicators. New arrivals will also receive this map.

NOTE FOR ALL PLAYERS: Locations labeled TBD are available for players to explore and decide what they might be. Does this building look like it might have been a store? A residence? A dance studio? Do you want to renovate it into your home away from home? Please feel free to fill in the world around you! If you'd like to claim a building for a purpose, please leave a comment and we'll update the map.

Not shown on the map: Beach and Caves located south of Temba.

TOWN CENTER
00 ✧ The Fountain
The main source of fresh water for the city. It has become mostly symbolic at this point, but the concept is that the town is built around a water source. The water itself is pumped here via underground pipes from the water treatment plant (Blue 26), which also pipes water to the other "fountains" in the subdivisions and residences in the city.
01 ✧ Agriculture Building
One of the tallest buildings in the city, this structure contains floors designed for growing food crops. Its walls are transparent to let the sunlight in, and the building is fitted with an advanced irrigation system. Underground levels are suitable for root vegetables and night-blooming plants. The basement also contains a locked vault which houses a seed bank.
AGRICULTURE DATA POINT
02 ✧ Livestock Nursery
The lot directly across the street and into the pink area was used for animal care. There may have been more structures in the area that relate to this purpose also, but if so they aren't there anymore.
03 ✧ "The Hotel"
Several rooms in this have been restored and there is always a room available for those in need of a place to stay.

In the lobby there is a large robotic loom ideal for making large pieces of fabric, though spools of material must be set into it. On the second floor there are two connected rooms, one a small private bedroom, the other a clear workroom for someone skilled with fabric. There are bolts of fabric, spools of yarn and thread, lap looms, drop spindles, and a large amount of unprocessed glownie wool and spider silk. Everything one needs for garment making, all left behind after the departure of Lark.

05 ✧ Temba Restoration Coordination

The large building has been split into two distinct portions. The front room is a cluttered office area with walls covered with architectural sketches, transcribed power and water grids, hand-made maps of the city, and detailed drawings of reconstruction plans or suggested projects. Around the room are a number of large tables and desks, with scattered chairs, clearly meant to be a working office space. Only one has a sign that says 'do not touch', with all the rest being intended for planning use by the community. This front room is open to use at all hours and for all purposes.

One of the two doors leading beyond the room is labeled as 'Reeve's Room: Do Not Disturb'. This door is not locked, but privacy would be appreciated as it serves as his living space, complete with small kitchen.
claimed by Reeve Tuesti
06 ✧ Diner

Originally claimed by Eli Vanto, this service has since been taken over by Tommy Shepherd since Eli's disappearance (circa June 2020). The Diner is currently regularly manned by Tommy Shepherd and Radley, and the upstairs apartment is being used by Tommy Shepherd as a residence after the volcanic activity that rocked Temba.
Claimed by Tommy Shepherd
07 ✧ Civic Center
This is another tall building designed to be impressive. Lower levels contain wide open spaces for recreation (think tracks, courts, gyms, convention space), and a huge hall where it looks like lectures could have been given. Moving up you will find offices, and finally residential spaces on the very top floors. The roof contains a huge empty basin that was once a pool. In their glory days the Agrii used this building as a meeting place and base of social infrastructure.

One of the gyms on the lower level has been converted into an active fitness and training center, with weight and agility stations as well as the beginnings of an obstacle course. The lockers off of this are all kept sparkling clean. Just off of this gym, in what was clearly originally a store-room, the floors have been covered with a thick layer of sand to serve as a dojo.

Clarice Starling added an obstacle course to one of the indoor spaces.
Residents Billy Hargrove (Winter)
08 ✧ University / Library
There is a big plaza in between these two buildings, which are set low to the ground and mostly destroyed. The Library has been claimed by Jonathan Sims, the building and the area around cleaned of the scattered remains of broken data points and fortified to withstand future storms. Its high shelves may be mostly empty safe for two actual books, a few stacks of notes and several small stacks of casette tapes.

Somewhat hidden in the back is the entrance to the basement, which is easy to miss - And usually locked as the area down there has slowly been converted into a living area where Jon, Tony and several mothcats tend to live. In fact, an entire flock of mothcats has settled into the library as well and raise their kittens up on the highest parts of the shelves.

The Archivist's prolonged stay in the structure has left a curious effect on the library as well. Anyone entering it will not be able to shake the eerie feeling of being Watched...
residents Jonathan Sims

09 ✧ Hospital
The most interesting thing about the hospital is its series of tubes (no, really). Medicine was clearly very important to the Agrii, and after the storms started happening, they placed even more value on it. The tubes lead into the building from various places around the city, but most of the passageways are closed off, with the exception of passage within the hospital campus. Some tubes are large enough to fit subway cars; others are smaller like the pneumatic tubes at the bank, designed for transporting samples/tests/etc throughout the building network.

The multiple "buildings" of the hospital campus are all connected via hallways and yes, more tubes. After the storms hit, they tried to keep the hospital running via patchwork systems, cobbled together and jury rigged out of parts that probably aren't meant to do what they're doing. It's all quick, hasty work, designed to keep people alive with not a lot to go on. The hospital itself is fairly derelict - the machinery does not work, and it is unclear whether these canisters contain samples, medicines, or something else ...
MEDICAL DATA POINT
10 ✧ Security Station / Tower
The tower rises up next to the blocky-looking security station, which looks very sturdy indeed. Offices are on the lower levels, with upper levels containing a series of closets. The only way to get to the upper levels is via elevator, which is not functional. The Tower allows for a panoramic view of the whole city, and also contains broadcast equipment.

04 ✧
Barely standing
. There's a lot of rubble, ruin, and major overgrowth in this area, especially in the space between buildings 4 and 5, and it runs all the way down to the space between 10 and 11. You're going to have to pick through some perilous ground to get to the hangar.
claimed by TBD
05 ✧ Hangar
This is where the ships are stored between offworld excursions. The Hangar is only accessible by foot through the attached Terminal Building.
PILOTING DATA POINT
06 ✧ Terminal
The Terminal building is rather large, and in many ways it is evocative of airports from the early 21st Century of Earth. There are waiting rooms, places to 'drop off' luggage (which of course don't work), and even what seems to be security checkpoints. These last things are not only not staffed, but has no tools for security, but there really is a nice long area that looks like it's meant for lining up for something. After that there is seating areas with closed down booths around them (perhaps potential storefronts), before the doors to access the Hangar proper and the ships there.

25 ✧ Transport Station
This is similar to a commuter rail system and the restored train cars run back and forth between the two cities multiple times a day. The train itself arrives and then sits for four hours to recharge before returning to Sh'Ka. There it sits for half an hour to allow for loading and unloading before the return journey. The train does not run at night. The train cars themselve are not too different from the size of American subway cars. When departing the train soon enters a tunnel, which people cannot travel into because 30 meters in the tunnel is blocked by an impassable force field.
26 ✧ Secret Tunnel
Leads to the Calibration Area. But outside of Calibrations, it only leads to a dead end.

SOUTHEAST SIDE - RESIDENCES AND MANUFACTURING
The orange district is really not well off, especially in the areas between the city center and the southern border road. There is a lot of rubble and ruin, and it's hard to tell what most of these buildings ever were to begin with. Not much can be salvaged from them.

10 ✧ Residences
Apartments/Capsules

In front of this building, a large, metal pole stands upright, about six feet tall and several inches thick. It has been shoved about a foot into the ground and sealed in place with a rough, makeshift concrete mixture around the base. Other nearby piles of rubble have been deliberately shifted away from it so that it's definitely the tallest point in the immediate area.
11 ✧ Residences - Subdivision
Mostly ruins; center lake is mostly dried up.
12 ✧ Residences - Subdivision
Slightly fewer ruins; center lake is non-potable
13 ✧ Residences - Towers
The Tower residences look more like a fortress upon approach, with sturdy walls spanning the distance between each tower. The center lake is wide and deep, with the walls acting as a dam, which has allowed the lake to "take over" the area. There is a thriving ecosystem of aquatic life which has evolved independently in the time the Agrii have been gone. The lower levels of the tower residences have sustained flood damage, but upper levels are surprisingly intact - you will be able to find furniture, utensils, possibly even soft home goods here. And if you don't mind watery neighbors this might not be a bad place to live.

You'll also find The Deep End - claimed by Cayde and located on one of the mid-levels of the Tower residences, the local tavern is open to all and largely self-serve. Its rustic furnishings, which tend toward dark wood and a dingy color palette with rusted lanterns, are offset by the large windows that open up into the Tower's interior, where the bluish-green light filters in through the water. During the day one can catch a glimpse of the incidental lake's aquatic life.

There's also now a gigantic gaping hole in the wall just a ways down the hall from the bar's entrance. About 6-feet across, it's been completely blown open for a view outside. A sharp eye might spot a hole punched right through the adjacent wall where the tavern lies...

SOUTHWEST SIDE - ARTS & POWER
01 ✧ Amphitheater
This building is huge. Like ... major football stadium huge, and then some. It looks like the entire city could have gathered here, and it probably did. Like a stadium, it has a center area at ground level, and rows upon rows of graded platforms, some of which have long benches, or curious round pods. The steps between each row are quite high. While the electronics are not working, there are massive lights and lenses, and other machines with large funnels aimed out into the audience. Smaller machines dot the audience area. There is an underground section here but it appears to be sealed off.

Dustin has gutted one of the spotlights in the and modified it to be a Very Large Telescope. It can be used manually, but Dustin has also built a custom program on his communications device that allows it to automatically track points in the sky and do more precise movements and whatnot.

A little pictograph sign has been hung up for the Funfronds to request that they not spread their spores in this particular area. 20 ✧ Palace
At least, it looks like one. So many broken data points.
21 ✧ MYSTERIOUS BLINKING BLUE LIGHT
A large tower stands here with a small control shed set apart from it and hidden a gathering of bushes and trees. Cayde-6, Tony Stark and Jonathan Sims appear to have broken the tower which used to emit a protective field around itself with similar effects to the energy storms. It is now without function, but a new Mysterious Blinking Light has appeared far outside the city, but this one doesn't appear to be stationairy, as any attempt to reach it has proven futile.
22 ✧ Laboratories
(Probably) Super toxic. Super sealed off. Area around it is super overgrown and faintly glowing. It smells very weird.

Nothing of use could be found here. No records or data points, only an abandoned lab. The large room in the back houses a large array of what used to be machines and lab equipment, all of which has been molten to lumps of metal that glow faintly just as the flora surrounding the building does. At the center of the room an elephant's foot situation appears to have happened and the mix of chemicals and metal has burned its way to the lower levels.

Low, non-lethal levels of radiation can be measured, yet it has been decided to not explore a potential basement. The lab has been sealed back up and appropriate warning signs were put up on its fence.
23 ✧ Estate
Situated at the far end of a long, empty lawn (still green). Miniature version of the "Palace." Fenced in.
24 ✧ Residences - Subdivision
Fenced in. Different from the other subdivisions. The architecture here is more severe, somehow. Could be a military base, could be a prison...
